A kind benefactor has stepped forward and provided me with a trip to the Sixth Thai Silent Film Festival, to be held May 24-26, 2019, at Bangkok's historic Scala Theater. This exciting trip marks the first return of the Fairbanks family to Thailand since 1931, when Douglas and director Victor Fleming were making AROUND THE WORLD IN 80 MINUTES WITH DOUGLAS FAIRBANKS.
Stay tuned for more details as they become available....

I was delighted to discover a few days ago that, according to my agent, Michael Troyan, copies of Douglas Fairbanks: The Fourth Musketeer are available at Barnes & Noble bookstores across America.
March 20, 2019, Hollywood, California --
A hundred years ago, Douglas Fairbanks and his wife Mary Pickford, along with Charlie Chaplin and D.W. Griffith, came to a disagreement with their movie distributors. Ironically, I now find myself in a similar plight with my publisher, Roman & Littlefield. Acting through their wholesale book representative for the western US, the company is not placing Douglas Fairbanks: The Fourth Musketeer in bookstores, unless and until I create a book sale event, at my own expense. In short, Rowman & Littlefield will do nothing to ensure that The Fourth Musketeer is available to the public through brick and mortar bookstores. The office of the Rowman & Littlefield imprint that published The Fourth Musketeer has reneged on their written promises to help with marketing and PR materials for the North American book tour, which was to begin April 7th, in Toronto, Canada.
Due to Rowman & Littlefield's choices, you typically will not be able to go to your local book store and buy The Fourth Musketeer unless I have created an event local to your area, that is then found to be worthy by Rowman & Littlefield's wholesale bookstore representative. When the major silent film festivals and book events of the west coast were suggested, all were rejected for one reason or another. I was encouraged to buy copies of my own book and sell them at these events if I wanted to have books for sale at a physical location.
This was not why I chose Rowman & Littlefield to publish The Fourth Musketeer.
Any publisher’s refusal to support their own titles is an untenable situation, so I am forced to withdraw my plans for a book tour beyond southern California and central Texas.
Thank you for your understanding. I deeply regret any inconvenience this cancellation has caused fans of Douglas Fairbanks and silent film scholars.
